This one has been in the works for a while – improvements and additions to Hartsdown Dip – first built in the 70s to cater for the first skateboarding craze. This spot is one of the oldest surviving skate structures in the UK.
To ensure its survival and popularity long into the future, we plan to polish and reseal the existing concrete, making it smoother and therefore safer. We will also be adding the features shown: curb, wall ride, flat bar, and a couple of quarter pipes.
This will significantly improve the space for all wheeled sports, without interfering with the basketball courts or taking away the unique history of the original structure.
